About The Position

Under the general direction of the AVP of Member Experience, we are seeking a highly organized, self-motivated, and enthusiastic Traveling Manager to join our leadership team. This key leadership role involves overseeing branches or departments across Member Experience, in the absence of a manager to drive engagement and deliver exceptional member experiences. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong ability to lead diverse teams, manage operations effectively, and foster a positive and inclusive culture. Maintains and leads a highly motivated team that consistently exceeds member expectations by properly matching the full range of Credit Union products and services with an informed understanding of the members’ needs. Inspires teams to acquire, expand, and retain member relationships while maximizing team performance to ensure the achievement of the strategic goals of the organization. Rely on their extensive financial services experience and judgment to ensure congruence across the board. Provides frequent coaching and sales leadership to the team and promotes a positive image of the Credit Union inside and outside the workplace. Rely on previous experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Perform a variety of tasks and supervise other employees with little or no direct supervision from a manager.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 7+ years of financial institution experience in branch operations and management or equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred but 4+ years of member/customer service experience, 3+ years in financial services, will be considered.
  • 3+ year of sales experience with a demonstrated achievement track record, preferred.
  • Strong track record of effectively supervising and leading a larger size group of employees.

  • Familiarity with cash handling systems (e.g., teller cash recyclers, cash counters)
  • Basic accounting and balancing software knowledge
  • Ability to use digital banking platforms (online and mobile banking tools)
  • Experience with document imaging and scanning systems
  • Knowledge of CRM software for member/customer interactions
  • Proficient in email and calendar management tools
  • Basic troubleshooting of office equipment (printers, scanners, vault systems)
  • Awareness of security and fraud detection tools
  • May be required to stand, use hands, and reach with arms.
  • May be required to walk, stoop, kneel, or crouch; occasionally required to sit, climb, or balance.
  • Must be able to lift to 25 lbs.
  • Requires ability to communicate effectively in person, on the phone, and via digital channels.
  • Vision requirements include close, distance, and peripheral vision, as well as depth perception and focus adjustment.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for selling and cross-selling Credit Union services to current and potential members.
  • Possesses an advanced knowledge of branch operations and can serve in all aspects of the Member Experience Environment to include coverage to Virtual Experience and Contact Center, when applicable.
  • Fully complies with all SRP Credit Union policies, procedures, guidelines, and service standards, including but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act and OFAC Policies.
  • Apply strong critical thinking and problem-solving to meet the needs of members and team members.
  • Responsible for achieving organizational goals.
  • Responsible for referring, selling and cross-selling Credit Union products and services.
  • Provides proactive service and sales leadership to all team members, motivating them to effectively uncover members’ needs and offer product benefits that improve the members’ financial life.
  • Ability to influence others and foster team member engagement.
  • Foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork, professional development, and a focus on member service.
  • Oversee daily operations, ensuring compliance with credit union policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to manage budgets, forecasts, and performance metrics, identifying opportunities for improvement and growth.
  • Champion a member-centric approach, facilitating the delivery of outstanding service and addressing member inquiries and concerns effectively.
  • Implement initiatives that enhance member engagement and retention, promoting the credit union's products and services.
  • Regularly travel to various branch and department locations to provide on-site support, conduct staff training, and assist with special projects and events.
  • Must be available and flexible with travel schedules to accommodate team needs and organizational priorities.
  • Must have a valid driver's license, auto insurance and dependable transportation.
  • Mentor and coach team members, encouraging professional growth and ensuring that they have the necessary tools and resources to succeed.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and develop individualized plans to enhance team capabilities in absence of manager
  • Support and supervisor other traveling team members
  • Represent the credit union in community events and local partnerships, promoting its mission and values.
  • Collaborate with local organizations to enhance the credit union's visibility and community impact.
  • Directly supervises employees in a branch in the absence of the branch manager, community events, or department.
  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with organization’s policies, procedures and applicable laws.
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
