About The Position

Rock Solid Stabilization & Reclamation, Inc. is seeking a skilled and dependable Traveling Mechanic to join our soil stabilization team. In this role, you will support field operations by maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing a variety of heavy equipment used in soil stabilization, including reclaimer/stabilizers, water trucks, tractors, graders, compactors, and support vehicles. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on mechanical work, problem-solving, and working independently in the field. Requirements

3+ years of experience as a heavy equipment mechanic, field mechanic, or diesel technician.
Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and heavy equipment components.
Ability to read schematics and troubleshoot efficiently in the field.
Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred but not required).
Willingness to travel extensively and work outdoors in varying conditions.
Self-motivated with strong communication and organizational skills.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience in road construction, soil stabilization, or earthwork.
Familiarity with brands such as Caterpillar, Wirtgen, Volvo, John Deere, or similar.
Welding or fabrication skills.

Responsibilities

Perform on-site diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance on soil stabilization equipment.
Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel engine issues.
Conduct routine inspections to ensure equipment safety and reliability.
Maintain service records.
Collaborate with field supervisors and equipment operators to minimize downtime.
Travel to job sites across the region (overnight travel required).
Maintain a safe work environment and follow all company and OSHA standards.
