About The Position
We are seeking a Laborer to join our team and support the day-to-day operations of our construction project in Muskogee, OK. Onboarding will take place in Columbia, MO. Emery Sapp & Sons, Inc. (ESS) is a 100% employee-owned multi-faceted contractor focused on delivering complex heavy civil projects by developing innovative infrastructure solutions. Our growing team of employee-owners are experts in grading, excavation, underground utilities, bridge construction, asphalt paving, concrete paving, and pavement preservation.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds and working in all weather conditions
- Basic math and measurement skills
- Ability to follow directions and work independently or as part of a team
- Willing and capable of standing for long hours as the main responsibility for this position is operating a jackhammer
- Willingness to work 12 hour days 5-6 days a week

- Experience in construction or related industry
Responsibilities
- Assist with general construction tasks, including loading and unloading materials, digging trenches, and operating hand and power tools
- Operate a jackhammer majority of the time
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Follow safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment
- Collaborate with site supervisors and other construction staff to ensure project success
- Drive innovation and continuous improvement in construction practices
- Other duties as assigned
