About The Position

This Registered Nurse (RN) position functions independently as a member of Valley’s team for those clients that require services in outpatient mental health, group homes, and the VTC. The RN works closely with team members and other care providers, such as the Medical Assistants and LPNs, to coordinate care and scheduling, while providing direct care to our consumers. The RN will uphold the agency and program mission/values by offering professional nursing services to consumers to ensure optimum service planning and delivery. This position will be stationed in the Morgantown office with regular travel to all outpatient offices, group homes, and the VTC as needed with a personal use vehicle provided by Valley.

Requirements

  • Ability to perform essential duties as outlined below.
  • 2 years of experience working in outpatient nursing services.
  • Associate degree in Nursing from accredited Nursing program.
  • Current RN license in good standing.
  • Experience with phlebotomy & lab processing.
  • Knowledge of Nursing protocol, theories, principles, and practices of Nursing.
  • Ability to comply with Client’s Rights.
  • Ability to comply with Valley Healthcare’s and Division departmental safety procedures.
  • Current CPR/First Aid certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
  • Valid Driver’s License.

Nice To Haves

  • 3-5 years of experience working in outpatient nursing services.
  • BSN from accredited Nursing program.

Responsibilities

  • Provide quality & compassionate nursing services to all consumers of Valley.
  • Act as Float Nurse for all outpatient offices, group homes, and the VTC as needed.
  • Manage the agency lab & nursing services in all outpatient offices as needed.
  • Records or directs to have recorded client’s vital signs, weight, measurements, and primary care screenings as needed.
  • Assist with the agency OBMAT program’s diversion program.
  • Complete lab draws and patient follow-ups.
  • Oversee & work closely with other medical staff to provide needed nursing services.
  • Coordinate medical services with other clinical staff.
  • Provide patient education, injections, and evaluations as needed.
  • Assist with internal nursing programs & services.
  • Monitor & organize medical sections of consumer charts.
  • Administer or direct to have administered all medications as ordered by a Physician & assist with medication refills.
  • Responsible for calling in prescription orders to pharmacy in a timely manner.
  • Complete & monitor all required documentation of consumers in an accurate & timely manner to ensure compliance with all Valley guidelines, Medicaid, OSHA, and other licensing agencies that reflect services the clients have received as appropriate.
  • Implement treatment/behavior plans in compliance with Valley’s and State guidelines.
  • Comply & implement or direct all Physician orders.
  • Provide Crisis Intervention as necessary.
  • Provide consumer education regarding benefits & potential side effects of prescribed medications.
  • Follows approved standard nursing practices & guidelines when administering or directing to administer all medications to clients to include proper documentation, timeliness, , and observation of the consumer.
  • Participate in treatment planning activities to ensure that ongoing medical services are appropriate and are provided in accordance with other program services.
  • Ensures that personal care, change in consumers health, and hygiene of all consumers is maintained as consumer needs dictate.
  • Engages consumers in achieving their daily goals & objectives through active treatment.
  • May require transportation of consumers using company vehicle to appointments or activities.
  • Support & assist in the training of new employees.
  • Assist in monitoring and ordering of equipment & supplies.
  • Other work-related duties as assigned.
