About The Position

This is a full time position. All travel expenses are paid/reimbursed. Travel is limited to Monday-Friday (weekends at home) Full-time benefits start on the first day of the month following your start date! The Traveling Director of Nursing (DON) will travel as needed to client skilled nursing centers to assist as Interim Director of Nursing. This is a great opportunity to share your clinical knowledge, put systems in place and train new Directors of Nursing. A successful candidate is/will: Responsible for the effective overall management of the Nursing Department on a temporary basis in the assigned region/facility. Work with other disciplines to provide quality care to all patients/residents in facility. Responsible for assisting assigned facility to comply with appropriate state, federal guidelines/regulations, in accordance with established company policies and procedures. Work with all facility departments to assist in planning, implementing and evaluating patient centered programming. Assist facilities with the interpretation and implementation of company policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Ideal candidate must be a skilled communicator, director and motivator
  • Able to organize and prioritize many tasks effectively
  • 3-5 years of experience as a Director of Nursing in a long term care environment
  • Able to react to emergency situations appropriately when required
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (RN) , BSN preferred with a valid RN license
  • Must be able to travel extensively by air and automobile. Facilities located in multiple states – overnight travel will be required
  • Reliable transportation required
