The Traveling Concrete Carpenter Foreman will lead a crew to build, set, and finish concrete structures. This position requires coordination with the job site Superintendent to configure layout and works independently to lead a crew in the installation of form work, placing steel reinforcement, pouring concrete, and finishing as needed for concrete construction. The foreman will read blueprints, drawings, and sketches to fully grasp requirements and will assemble and secure forms, wood structures, sheet metal, and other various materials. The role also involves taking measurements, cutting, shaping, and smoothing lumber and other materials according to needed measurements, and building window frames, doors, staircases, and frame buildings using raw materials or pre-constructed items. The foreman will lay out floorings, roofing, or drywalls ensuring they are leveled and compatible, assemble furniture, cabinets, shelves, and other items, and install them where designated. Inspections of work sites for obstructions or holes that could cause structural weakness are also part of the responsibilities, along with ensuring compliance with company quality standards and fostering a safe workplace by following safety policies and procedures.

  • Assist other craft workers as needed or assigned.
  • Inspect work sites for obstructions or holes that could cause structural weakness.
  • Check work and repair or correct any faults.
  • Direct and supervise the work of a crew of one or more trades.
  • Inspect work for compliance with company quality standards.
  • Knowledge of carpentry techniques and methods of installation and construction.
  • Knowledge of basic mathematics and its applications.
  • Knowledge of materials, methods, and tools involved in construction or repair of buildings.
  • Skill in the standard use of tools and equipment of the profession.
  • Ability to work successfully as a team and independently with moderate supervision.
  • Ability to understand and follow directions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form.
  • Ability to visualize a layout by looking at plans and prints.
  • Industrial machine licenses (such as a forklift license) preferred.
  • Current OSHA 10 or MSHA Certification preferred.
  • TWIC card preferred.
