We are an Equal Opportunity Employer and participate in E-Verify. About this Role FiberTel is looking for a Travel Utility Excavator/Equipment Operator for our Portland location. This is a travel position with job sites in OR, WA, and ID. The Travel Utility Excavator/Equipment Operator will be responsible for safely and skillfully operating and maintaining construction equipment (cable plows, backhoe, mini excavator, skid steer, rock saw, and other utility construction equipment). This position may also help with loading and unloading of equipment and materials using heavy equipment as well as any other tasks assigned by the foreman. A Class A CDL is required for this position. Pay: $25-36/hr, DOE. Daily Per Diem + travel accommodations.

Requirements

  • Possess a valid CDL class A
  • Experience operating heavy equipment and machinery
  • Clean driving record (no more than 2 tickets in the last 5 years)
  • Strong focus on quality and safety
  • Excellent time management skills

Responsibilities

  • Operate all heavy machinery in a safe manner
  • Dig trenches, back-fill excavations, and compact & level earth to grade specifications
  • Transport materials and equipment
  • Load & unload equipment and material as needed
  • Follow all on-site safety procedures
  • Ensure contents & equipment are properly secured during transportation
  • Comply with all DOT regulations and rules
  • Perform daily vehicle pre-trip inspections and JHA
