We are an Equal Opportunity Employer and participate in E-Verify. About this Role FiberTel is looking for a Travel Utility Excavator/Equipment Operator for our Portland, OR location. This is a travel position with job sites in OR, WA, and ID. The Travel Utility Excavator/Equipment Operator will safely and skillfully operate and maintain construction equipment (cable plows, backhoe, mini excavator, skid steer, rock saw, and other utility construction equipment) for utility excavation for fiber projects. This position may also help with the loading and unloading of equipment and materials utilizing heavy equipment. This position requires a Class A CDL. Pay: $25-40/hr, DOE. Daily Per Diem, + accommodations included.

Requirements

Possess a valid CDL Class A
Experience operating heavy equipment and machinery
Clean driving record (no more than 2 tickets in the last 5 years)
Strong focus on quality and safety
Excellent time management skills

Responsibilities

Operate all heavy machinery in a safe manner
Dig trenches, back-fill excavations, and compact & level earth to grade specifications
Transport materials and equipment
Load & unload equipment and material as needed
Follow all on-site safety procedures
Ensure contents & equipment are properly secured during transportation
Comply with all DOT regulations and rules
Perform daily vehicle pre-trip inspections and JHA
