About The Position

The Ultrasound Technologist is responsible for performing diagnostic imaging procedures using high-frequency sound waves to support accurate medical diagnosis. This role requires strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care while adhering to safety and quality standards.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Ultrasound Technology program
  • ARDMS (American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers) certification required
  • Registered in Abdomen (AB) and OB/GYN specialties
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • All certifications must be active and maintained
  • Strong knowledge of ultrasound imaging techniques and equipment
  • Excellent attention to detail and image quality assessment skills
  • Strong patient care and communication abilities
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Commitment to patient safety, confidentiality, and quality care

Nice To Haves

  • Experience assisting with advanced procedures such as biopsies (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients for ultrasound procedures and explain processes to ensure comfort and cooperation
  • Select appropriate transducers and adjust equipment settings based on exam requirements
  • Perform diagnostic ultrasound exams, including abdomen and OB/GYN studies
  • Obtain and review patient history and clinical data to support accurate diagnosis
  • Position patients appropriately to achieve optimal imaging results
  • Evaluate images for technical quality and diagnostic value
  • Maintain accurate imaging records, including proper labeling and documentation
  • Assist physicians during specialized procedures such as needle biopsies
  • Monitor patient condition and ensure safety throughout procedures
  • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of ultrasound equipment
  • Coordinate equipment repairs and manage supply inventory
  • Follow infection control policies and safety protocols
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and departmental activities
  • Provide guidance and clinical instruction to students as needed
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards
  • Engage in continuing education and professional development
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
