About The Position

This travel program offers the opportunity to work directly for a company on various assignments, rather than through multiple agencies. The role involves providing efficient, quality-oriented patient care by producing diagnostic ultrasounds to assist medical personnel in patient diagnosis in a timely and professional manner. Ultrasound technicians operate Ultrasound equipment to produce images of internal body structures for diagnostic purposes. They also prepare patients for these diagnostic procedures by explaining the process and positioning them correctly to capture the images requested by a physician. The program offers a single recruiter for all assignments, competitive hourly rates, and no mid-contract pay cuts.

Requirements

  • Current ARDMS required
  • Current, valid, and active certification to practice as an Ultrasound Technician in the state of employment required
  • Completion of specialized (obstetrics and gynecology, cardiac, vascular, musculoskeletal) certificate program as required
  • Two (2) years of recent experience in area of specialty required
  • Current, valid, and active driver’s license required
  • Ability to travel using publicly available air and ground transportation
  • Recent acute care experience for acute care and LTAC placements
  • Current BLS certification from a Vibra Travles-approved vendor required
  • Vibra follows federal and state requirements for vaccinations, vaccination offerings, and disease screening

Nice To Haves

  • AHA preferred for BLS certification

Responsibilities

  • Provide efficient, quality-oriented patient care by producing quality diagnostic ultrasounds to assist medical personnel in patient diagnosis in a timely and professional manner when ordered by a physician
  • Effectively coordinate the process for ordering the procedure and transmitting the images to the radiologist
  • Operate Ultrasound equipment, which produces images of internal body structures for diagnostic purposes
  • Prepare patients for diagnostic procedures by explaining the process and positioning patients to correctly capture the images requested by a physician
  • Accurately position patients for procedures, ensuring comfort and safety while adhering to radiation protection protocols
  • Operate and maintain imaging equipment, including fluoroscopy, CT scanners, and ultrasound machines, to obtain high-quality images
  • Monitor patients during procedures, observing for any complications or unusual events, and report findings to the physician
