Responsibilities

• Preparing the operating room for a wide range of procedures: setting up sterile instrument tables, ensuring all tools are readily available, and confirming equipment functionality.
• Maintaining strict sterile technique, performing proper draping, and assisting with patient positioning to support optimal surgical access and safety.
• Passing instruments and supplies with precision, anticipating the surgeon’s needs, and maintaining fluid communication with the team to minimize delays.
• Conducting instrument counts before and after procedures, helping to prevent retained surgical items, and documenting key steps for patient safety.
• Assisting with room turnover, transporting supplies, and supporting post‑operative cleaning and room readiness for the next case.
• Collaborating with nurses, surgeons, anesthesia providers, and support staff to optimize workflow, patient comfort, and outcomes.
