Aya Healthcare is seeking a Sterile Processing Tech (SPT) for a 14-week assignment in Lexington, KY. Requirements

• IAHCSMM/HSPA certification required.
• At least one year of experience in sterile processing in an acute hospital setting.
• Proficient in the use of chemical agents for decontamination and disinfectants.
• Knowledge of high-level disinfection (HLD) and manual cleaning techniques.
• Experience with ultrasonic cleaners and sterilization equipment.

Nice To Haves

• Familiarity with various surgical specialties including Cardiac, Neurology, and Orthopedics.
• Experience with immediate-use steam sterilization (IUSS).
• Knowledge of biological and chemical indicators for sterilization monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Perform sterilization and decontamination of surgical instruments and equipment.
• Utilize chemical agents and disinfectants for cleaning processes.
• Conduct high-level disinfection (HLD) and manual cleaning of instruments.
• Operate ultrasonic cleaners and washers/sterilizers effectively.
• Organize and assemble case carts and instrument trays according to protocols.
• Select appropriate wrapping materials and follow sterilization wrapping procedures.
• Reprocess scopes and probes, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
• Document equipment usage and maintain accurate records of sterilization processes.
