About The Position

Travel Sports Intern: Summer 2026: Part Time/Seasonal Location: Lakeland Hills YMCA in Mountain Lakes, NJ Schedule: June 22 – August 14, 2026 | 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM Ages Served: 4th–7th Grade Essential Functions Facilitate all activities for your group: morning drills and games, trip logistics, lunch, group time, hobby time, theme days, etc. Travel with the group to various sporting venues in the morning and implement the curriculum when necessary. Adheres to program standards including safety and cleanliness standards. Follows YMCA policies and procedures, including those related to medical and disciplinary situations, child abuse prevention and emergencies. Cultivates positive relationships and maintains effective communication with parents, children, and staff. Models’ relationship-building skills in all interactions. Work with group of campers and provide a fun, safe and exciting camp experience. Cooperate with the Camp Director, Assistant Camp Director, Activity Leaders, and all fellow staff. Greet campers upon arrival. Additional help where needed when asked to by the Camp Director, Assistant Camp Director, and/or Activity Leaders.

Requirements

  • Entering first year of college or equivalent
  • Prior experience working with children
  • Athletic background and coaching experience
  • CPR/First Aid/AED certified or willing to obtain
  • Energetic, dependable, and adaptable
