About The Position
We are seeking an experienced Interventional Radiology Registered Nurse (IR RN) to provide high-quality patient care in a procedural imaging environment. The RN will support interventional procedures, ensure patient safety, and assist with both pre- and post-procedure care.
Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Minimum 2 years of Interventional Radiology experience
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- Strong clinical assessment and patient care skills
- Excellent communication and documentation abilities
Responsibilities
- Assist with interventional radiology procedures and patient care
- Perform patient assessments including vital signs and medical history review
- Prepare and administer medications, including drawing up Lidocaine
- Provide patient education and explain procedures prior to exams
- Monitor patients during and after procedures for safety and comfort
- Assist with biopsy procedures, including dressing and applying pressure to sites
- Coordinate and send pathology specimens to the radiologist
- Document pathology results and patient information accurately
- Conduct follow-up calls for patients with abnormal mammography results
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in EMR systems
- Provide compassionate patient support throughout procedures
