About The Position

Heartline Staffing, a Strategic Talent Partner with Purple Cow Recruiting, is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse – Case Manager for a travel assignment supporting an acute care hospital in Mission Viejo, California. This role focuses on inpatient care coordination and discharge planning for medically complex adult and geriatric patients in a hospital setting. POSITION SUMMARY The Registered Nurse – Case Manager is responsible for coordinating inpatient care, facilitating safe and timely discharges, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure continuity of care. This role works closely with physicians, social services, payors, and external providers while adhering to regulatory and payer guidelines. ASSIGNMENT DETAILS Location: Mission Viejo, CA Facility Type: Acute Care Hospital Assignment Length: 13 weeks Start Date: 02/02/2026 Shift: Days – 5x8s (08:00–16:30) Patient Ratio: Approximately 1:25 Weekend Requirement: Rotating weekends Floating: Required to float to the Laguna facility COMPENSATION Regular Hourly Rate: $28.00 Overtime Rate: $42.00 Weekly Taxable Pay: $1,120.00 Weekly Travel Stipend: $1,939.00 Total Weekly Compensation: $3,059.00 WORK ENVIRONMENT This role supports adult and geriatric patients in an acute hospital setting and requires strong coordination skills, independent clinical judgment, and experience managing complex discharge planning needs.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of acute medical Care Manager experience performing care coordination is required.
  • Acute hospital case management experience is required. Case managers do not perform utilization review for this role.
  • Travel nursing experience is required. This is a hard stop requirement.
  • Active California RN license is required. Pending licenses are accepted but must be active prior to the start date.
  • Epic charting experience is required.
  • Ability to independently arrange DME, SNF placement, and ambulance transport is required.
  • Weekend rotation is required.
  • Requested time off is limited to no more than 7 days.
