About The Position

Sentara Heart Hospital in Norfolk, Virginia is hiring an experienced Registered Nurse for the Cardiac Surgical ICU! This is a day shift position with a pay rate of $70 per hour. The unit is a 20 bed unit where nurses handle 1-2 patients based on acuity level. Nurses provide service to patients who have undergone open heart surgeries such as CABG, valve repair or replacement, aneurysm repair, TAVR, ablations, heart transplantation, and mechanical circulatory support devices including the Total Artificial Heart and ECMO, as well as various lung surgeries. Nurses manage critically ill patients that require intensive hemodynamic monitoring, mechanical ventilation, multiple drug infusions, IABP therapy, and CRRT.

Requirements

• Associates, Bachelors, Masters, or diploma in the Nursing Field required.
• Virginia or Compact Multi-State License in good standing.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• ACLS certification.
• At least two years of recent hospital experience in Cardiac ICU.

Responsibilities

• Provide care for patients who have undergone open heart surgeries.
• Manage critically ill patients requiring intensive hemodynamic monitoring.
• Administer mechanical ventilation and multiple drug infusions.
• Perform IABP therapy and CRRT.
