About The Position

A healthcare facility is seeking an experienced Travel Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to join a high-acuity adult critical care team. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong clinical judgment, advanced respiratory care skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of Respiratory Therapy experience in adult critical care settings.
• Strong proficiency in: Mechanical ventilation and ventilator weaning High-flow oxygen therapy BiPAP and CPAP Airway management and tracheostomy care
• Experience administering medications including but not limited to: Albuterol, Atrovent, Combivent, Pulmicort, Perforomist, Racemic Epinephrine, Spiriva, Tobramycin, Xopenex, and inhaled steroids
• Minimum 1 year of EPIC EMR experience required
• Level I Trauma experience required
• Active South Carolina RRT License (must be in hand)
• Required Certifications BLS (AHA) ACLS

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive respiratory care to adult critical care patients.
• Perform extubations and airway management, including nasal and oral airway placement.
• Administer pulmonary hygiene, suctioning, and sputum specimen collection.
• Perform tracheostomy care and manage trach collar oxygen therapy.
• Administer respiratory medications including bronchodilators, steroids, and antibiotics.
• Deliver aerosolized medications via mask, trach, MDI, and Medihaler.
• Operate handheld, T-piece, and trach collar nebulizers.
• Manage high-flow nasal cannula oxygen therapy.
• Provide non-invasive ventilation support (BiPAP/CPAP).
• Troubleshoot ventilator alarms and assist with mechanical ventilation weaning.
• Accurately document patient care using EPIC EMR.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
