About The Position

Step into a pivotal role as a Registered Nurse in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) in Plymouth, Massachusetts, beginning March 9, 2026. This hands-on assignment invites you to blend keen clinical acumen with compassionate patient-centered care as you guide adults through transitions from acute care toward recovery. In PCU, you’ll monitor evolving conditions, manage complex medications, implement rapid response plans, and partner with physicians, therapists, and families to craft thoughtful, evidence-based care plans. Your expertise will help patients stabilize, regain function, and leave with clearer pathways to wellness. This opportunity is about more than a paycheck; it’s about shaping outcomes, refining critical thinking, and building a versatile skill set that translates across settings—from community hospitals to larger academic centers. Plymouth itself sits on Massachusetts’ storied coastline, offering historic charm, harbor views, and a welcoming New England atmosphere that blends modern healthcare excellence with a pronounced sense of community. And because leadership in healthcare often thrives on exposure to diverse practice environments, this role also includes the potential for assignments in various locations across the United States, enabling you to deepen your clinical repertoire while exploring new communities, cultures, and patient populations. The combination of a beautiful base location and the chance to expand your horizons makes this PCU RN role uniquely rewarding. Plymouth offers easy access to scenic beaches, historic landmarks, and a thriving coastal culture that celebrates outdoor activity, local cuisine, and a high quality of life. You’ll work in a region where teamwork, innovation, and patient advocacy are everyday realities, and where access to Boston’s major medical hubs is a short drive away for professional development and networking. The broader opportunity to participate in travel assignments across the country means you can experience a spectrum of hospital settings—from Level II trauma centers with dynamic med-surg/PCU interfaces to community-oriented facilities with strengthening PCU programs. This variety not only sharpens clinical judgment and adaptability but also broadens your professional network and enhances resume credibility. Expect supportive leadership focused on mentorship and ongoing education, robust credentialing assistance, and a culture that welcomes questions, collaboration, and shared learning. Weathered by sea breezes and historic charm, Plymouth provides an inviting backdrop to a demanding and rewarding nursing role, with the option to rotate to other locations as your career evolves, enriching your practice with diverse patient stories and best practices. As a PCU RN, you’ll deliver high-quality, safe, and patient-focused care for adults experiencing intermediate acuity and evolving clinical needs. Key responsibilities include meticulous patient assessment, interpretation of continuous monitoring data, hemodynamic monitoring, IV therapy and medication administration with attention to potential complications, timely escalation of changes in condition, and comprehensive discharge planning and education for patients and families. You’ll collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams to implement care plans, participate in rounds, and advocate for evidence-based interventions that optimize recovery trajectories. The position offers competitive weekly compensation—between $2,582 and $2,760—as well as a sign-on bonus and housing assistance designed to reduce barriers and keep you focused on excellent patient care. You’ll have access to extension opportunities, enabling longer engagements if you choose, and the flexibility that comes with travel assignments. The role also features robust support systems, including 24/7 assistance from dedicated travel coordinators and clinical supervisors, plus resources for credentialing, licensing, and ongoing professional development. You can expect comprehensive onboarding, access to EHR training, and tools that empower you to supervise, mentor, and inspire others on the unit.
