Travel Registered Nurse – PCU (Oncology)
About The Position
Position Overview: Heartline Staffing, in partnership with Purple Cow Recruiting, is seeking an experienced Travel Registered Nurse for a high-acuity PCU assignment at James Cancer Hospital and Research in Columbus, Ohio. This role supports a medical oncology patient population with progressive care and telemetry needs in a fast-paced PCU environment. Schedule: • Night shift (3x12s) or Day shift (3x12s) • Nights: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM • Days: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM • Self-scheduling with requests submitted prior to final schedule posting • Weekend shifts variable based on unit needs • Floating required to equivalent or lower acuity units Compensation: • Gross: $2,359 per week • W2: $24.50 per hour • Tax-Free Stipend: $1,477 per week • Locals accepted at the same rate Contract Details: • Start Date: February 9, 2026 • Duration: 16 weeks • Number of Openings: 1 • Scheduling Type: Self-scheduling • Orientation: First week Monday–Friday dayshift; second week 36 hours with preceptor Unit Overview: • Medical Oncology PCU / Telemetry • 36-bed unit with 24+ PCU-level beds • Adult, adolescent, and rare pediatric patients (peds experience NOT required) • PCU ratios: 1:3 • Med/Surg Telemetry ratios: 1:4–5 Clinical Focus: • Solid tumor, orthopedic oncology, thoracic oncology • High-acuity PCU patients with telemetry • Heavy focus on infection prevention and fall prevention • Use of rapid response teams and advanced monitoring
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of PCU experience required
- Oncology experience preferred but NOT required
- High-acuity PCU experience REQUIRED
- ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Epic charting experience required
- Ability to float within PCU or Med/Surg Oncology units
- Previous travel experience preferred
- Valid compact or Ohio RN license required at time of submission
- Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
