About The Position
Position Overview: Heartline Staffing, in partnership with Purple Cow Recruiting, is seeking an experienced Travel Registered Nurse for a high-acuity PCU assignment at James Cancer Hospital and Research Institute in Columbus, Ohio. This role supports oncology patients in a fast-paced progressive care environment with a mix of PCU and Med-Surg acuity. Schedule: • Day or Night shift options available • 3x12-hour shifts • Day: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM • Night: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM • Self-schedule requests accepted prior to final schedule posting • Rotating weekends based on unit needs Compensation: • Gross: $2,359 per week • W2: $24.50 per hour • Tax-Free Stipend: $1,477 per week • Locals accepted at the same rate Contract Details: • Start Date: February 23, 2026 • Duration: 13 weeks • Scheduling Type: Self-scheduling • Orientation: First week Mon–Fri dayshift; second week 36 hours on-unit with preceptor Unit Overview: • 18 James – Medical Oncology PCU • 36-bed oncology telemetry unit • Over 24 beds designated PCU-level care • Adult and geriatric patient population • Pediatric patients are extremely rare (no pediatric experience required) Clinical Focus: • Solid tumor, orthopedic oncology, and thoracic oncology patients • High-acuity PCU with some Med-Surg • Chemotherapy, blood transfusions, IV antibiotics • Heparin and insulin drips • Heavy focus on infection prevention and fall prevention
Requirements
- High-acuity PCU experience REQUIRED
- Minimum of 2 years RN experience required
- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Ability to manage PCU and Med-Surg telemetry patients
- Required to float within units of equivalent or lower level of acuity
- Epic charting experience required
- Valid compact or Ohio RN license required at time of submission
- Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
Nice To Haves
- Oncology experience preferred but NOT required
- Previous travel experience preferred
