About The Position

Position Overview: Heartline Staffing, in partnership with Purple Cow Recruiting, is seeking an experienced Travel Registered Nurse for a PCU / Neuro Stepdown assignment at the Ohio State Brain and Spine Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. This role supports a high-acuity neurological patient population in a fast-paced stepdown environment. Schedule: • Night shift • 3x12-hour shifts • Hours: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM • Rotating weeknights, weekends, and holidays • Traveler will be required to float to different units within the OSU organization as needed Compensation: • Gross: $2,359 per week • W2: $24.50 per hour • Tax-Free Stipend: $1,477 per week • Locals accepted at the same rate Contract Details: • Start Date: February 23, 2026 • Duration: 13 weeks • Number of Openings: 1 • Scheduling Type: Self-scheduling • Orientation: 24 hours Unit Overview: • PCU / Neuro Stepdown • Adult and geriatric patient population • 29-bed unit • Estimated patient ratios: 1:3–1:4 Clinical Focus: • Neuro surgery and neuro medical patients • Stroke, epilepsy, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury • Lumbar drains and EVD monitoring required • Telemetry and cardiac monitoring

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of PCU or Med/Surg RN experience required
  • STRONG Neuro Stepdown or Neuro PCU experience required
  • NIHSS certification REQUIRED (HARD STOP)
  • EVD monitoring experience REQUIRED (HARD STOP)
  • ACLS and BLS certifications required
  • Epic charting experience required
  • Ability to float to other OSU units as needed
  • Valid compact or Ohio RN license required at time of submission
  • Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program

  • Previous travel experience preferred
