Role specifics and benefits Key responsibilities - Provide direct, evidence-based nursing care for laboring patients, including continuous fetal monitoring, assessment of labor progress, pain management administration, and support for vaginal delivery, cesarean sections, and postpartum recovery. - Collaborate with obstetricians, midwives, anesthesiologists, neonatal staff, and support teams to coordinate care plans, anticipate needs, and respond rapidly to changes in maternal or fetal status. - Deliver newborn care, facilitate early bonding, educate families on newborn care, breastfeeding, and postnatal expectations. - Maintain meticulous documentation, ensure patient safety, manage supplies, and contribute to unit quality initiatives and protocol adherence. - Participate in debriefs, on-call coverage, and unit improvements to enhance patient experience and outcomes.
