About The Position

A high-volume, fast-paced emergency department is seeking an experienced Emergency Department Registered Nurse (ED RN) . The ideal candidate is confident in managing high patient acuity, performing rapid assessments, and delivering safe, timely care in a busy emergency setting. This unit operates with 1:6+ nurse-to-patient ratios and requires strong prioritization and critical thinking skills.

Requirements

• Minimum 18 months of Emergency Department nursing experience
• Recent ED experience within the past 6 months required
• Strong clinical judgment and ability to manage high-acuity patients
• Proven ability to function effectively in a high-volume emergency department
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Active New Jersey RN license or multi-state compact license
• BLS (AHA)
• ACLS
• PALS
• NIHSS
• Telemetry competency
• 4-hour Stroke CEU (required)

Responsibilities

• Perform rapid triage and assessment of patients presenting with acute medical, surgical, and trauma-related conditions
• Deliver comprehensive emergency nursing care to patients of all ages
• Administer medications, IV therapy, blood products, and emergency treatments
• Monitor cardiac rhythms, vital signs, and patient responses to interventions
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to stabilize and treat patients
• Accurately document assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the electronic medical record
• Provide patient and family education and emotional support during emergency situations
• Float within the facility to comparable emergency or acute care units as needed
