Role Specifics and Benefits: As a CVICU Registered Nurse, you will perform comprehensive direct patient care for critically ill cardiac surgical patients, including postoperative management, hemodynamic monitoring, ventilator support, and coordination with surgeons and cardiology teams. Responsibilities

  • Assess and document patient status, including neurological checks and hemodynamic trends.
  • Manage arterial and central venous lines, drains, and suction systems; titrate vasoactive medications.
  • Support patients with post-cardiac surgery care, including devices such as intra-aortic balloon pumps where applicable, and assist in rapid response to clinical deterioration.
  • Lead interdisciplinary rounds, communicate effectively with physicians, perfusionists, respiratory therapists, and pharmacy staff.
  • Provide education to patients and families, ensuring informed consent and realistic expectations for recovery.
  • Ensure meticulous charting, accurate handoffs, and adherence to regulatory and hospital protocols.
