About The Position

Amerit Fleet Solutions, one of the leading fleet maintenance companies in the US, is looking to hire a skilled Travel Reefer Technician as part of our New Business Integrations Team! The Travel Reefer Technician position is responsible for deploying to locations and performing a variety of safety inspections. Compensation: $30.00-40.00 per hour, depending on experience! Shift: Monday - Friday (Flexible with some weekend travel required)- 10 days on, 4 days off (day 1 and day 10 are paid travel days) This is a Travel Reefer Tech position. This role requires flexibility, as travel may be scheduled on short notice and can result in sudden changes to your work schedule. Candidates should be comfortable adapting to shifting priorities and working in fast-paced, dynamic, and sometimes ambiguous environments. The benefits of belonging – what’s in it for you? Requirements

  • Experience with Reefer units (Thermo King and/or Carrier)
  • 608 Certifications required and/or obtained prior to start date if you meet the job duty qualifications
  • Experience with PMs and A/C
  • Must have valid Drivers License- Class C
  • Must have at least 5 years experience performing vehicle and trailer maintenance.
  • Must be able to operate a manual transmission vehicle to determine if operating properly
  • Must be able to enter and exit the driver's compartment of the truck and/or behind cab using normally available footholds and handholds.
  • Must provide own hand tools
  • Perform DOT inspections
  • Ability to follow instructions and complete required training
  • Basic computer skills
  • Basic written and verbal communication skills (documentation, communication with peers, supervisors, etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Prepare vehicle records and report both manually and on a computer
  • Perform repairs and preventative maintenance to Reefer vehicles
  • Perform safety inspections of equipment and prepare safety documentation required
  • Inspect and perform work on the under parts of vehicles
  • Access any area of the equipment or vehicle to perform necessary maintenance
  • Move parts to and from the job site and remove or install these parts on vehicle
  • Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures
  • Non travel weeks will be spent building Mobile Service Center trucks and completing other projects
  • Working closely with Fleet Managers and Senior Fleet Managers.
  • Up to 90-100% travel time
  • Perform other duties as required
