About The Position

We are seeking a Travel Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to provide compassionate, high -quality psychiatric care to residents in nursing homes and long -term care facilities. This role is ideal for a people -person who enjoys meeting new individuals, building rapport quickly, and working flexibly across multiple locations.

The PMHNP will collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams to support complex psychiatric and behavioral health needs in geriatric and medically vulnerable populations.

Requirements

• Active PMHNP license in NY state
• Active DEA license in NY state
• Board certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
• Experience (as RN or NP is a plus) in nursing homes, long -term care, geriatrics, or inpatient psychiatry preferred
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Comfort working independently while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams
• Flexibility with scheduling and travel
• Passion for patient -centered care and relationship -building
• Reliable transportation and willingness to travel between facilities

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations for nursing home and long -term care residents
• Diagnose and manage psychiatric conditions including dementia -related behaviors, mood disorders, psychotic disorders, anxiety, and comorbid medical conditions
• Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications in accordance with best practices and regulatory standards
• Collaborate with nursing staff, social workers, administrators, families, and medical providers
• Participate in treatment planning and behavioral interventions
• Provide timely, accurate documentation in the electronic medical record
• Travel between assigned facilities as scheduled
• Maintain compliance with state, federal, and facility -specific regulations
