About The Position

Aya Healthcare is seeking a dedicated PICU Registered Nurse for a 13-week assignment in Madison, Wisconsin. This role involves providing specialized care to critically ill pediatric patients in a fast-paced environment, ensuring their safety and comfort while managing complex medical needs.

Requirements

• Current BLS and PALS certifications are required.
• At least one year of experience in a PICU setting is required.
• Proficient in the interpretation and management of dysrhythmias.
• Experience with insulin administration and gastric tube management.
• Ability to care for ventilated patients and manage tracheostomy care.
• Knowledge of infection control practices and PPE usage.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with telemetry monitoring.
• Familiarity with pediatric dosage calculations.

Responsibilities

• Provide care for critically ill pediatric patients in the PICU.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, including insulin and blood products.
• Monitor and interpret dysrhythmias and manage acute airway situations.
• Perform procedures such as NG tube placement and ventilator management.
• Ensure adherence to infection control protocols and isolation precautions.
• Conduct wound assessments and provide appropriate care.
• Calculate pediatric dosages accurately and maintain IVs.
