About The Position

The Registered Nurse position involves providing high-quality patient care in a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) setting. The role requires a skilled nurse to manage complex medical needs, administer treatments, and support patients and their families during critical times. This assignment is for 13 weeks with a schedule of three 12-hour shifts from 07:00 to 19:00, offering a competitive weekly pay range.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a PICU or similar setting.
• Current BLS and PALS certifications.
• Proficient in administration of blood products and IV medications.
• Experience with ventilator management and care of ventilated patients.
• Knowledge of pediatric dosage calculations and care for pediatric patients.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with external ventricular drains (EVD) and ICP monitoring.
• Familiarity with TPN and lipids administration.
• Ability to manage and care for patients with tracheostomies.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in the PICU setting.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Monitor and assess patient conditions and vital signs.
• Assist in intubation and ventilator management.
• Perform wound assessments and care.
• Manage central lines and IVs, including starting and maintaining them.
• Educate patients and families on care plans and procedures.
• Implement infection control measures and isolation precautions.
• Document patient care and progress in the Epic charting system.
