Heartline Staffing, in partnership with Purple Cow Recruiting, is seeking a Physical Therapist for an acute care travel assignment in Albuquerque, New Mexico. This role supports a high-volume acute care hospital providing physical therapy services across orthopedic, neurologic, and cardiopulmonary patient populations. POSITION OVERVIEW This assignment is ideal for PTs who are comfortable working in acute care settings, managing diverse diagnoses, and delivering efficient, patient-centered care in a fast-paced hospital environment. ASSIGNMENT DETAILS • 13-week contract • Day shift 5x8s (08:00–16:30) • Patient ratio: 1:4 • Average 8 patient visits per day • Adult and geriatric patient population • 1 position available COMPENSATION Because travel rates change frequently based on market demand and facility needs, our recruiters provide the most current and competitive pay packages during your initial conversation. Each compensation package is customized and may include taxable hourly wages along with tax-free stipends when applicable. CLINICAL RESPONSIBILITIES • Evaluate and treat acute care patients with orthopedic, neurologic, and cardiopulmonary conditions • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans and goals • Perform mobility training, gait training, and strength assessments • Provide patient and family education on home exercise programs and safety • Utilize assistive devices and adaptive equipment as needed • Monitor vital signs and patient response to treatment • Document patient care and progress in Epic EMR WORK ENVIRONMENT • Acute care hospital setting • Adult and geriatric patient population • High-volume department (175 census) • Epic charting system preferred Heartline Staffing is a Strategic Talent Partner with Purple Cow Recruiting. Requirements
- Minimum 1 year acute care Physical Therapist experience REQUIRED
- BLS REQUIRED
- New Mexico PT license REQUIRED (pending accepted, must be active prior to start)
- First-time travelers accepted
- Experience with orthopedic, neurologic, and cardiopulmonary patients
- Ability to manage acute care caseload and prioritize workflow
