About The Position

Setting: Long Term Acute Care Hospital / Specialty Hospital Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days, 5x8's • Work with 1 recruiter from start to finish and assignment to assignment • Local and Non-local positions available • Competitive hourly rate in addition to tax-free stipend (if applicable) • No pay cuts mid-contract • Referral bonus (up to $1000 per referral!) • License reimbursement if traveling to new state where new license is required • Your pick of assignments at partner facilities from various health systems across the country
Requirements
- Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) required
- Minimum of 2 years of recent hospital pharmacy technician experience
- Graduate of an ASHP-accredited pharmacy technician training program (or equivalent experience)
- Active, unrestricted Pharmacy Technician certification (CPhT) through PTCB or ExCPT
- Active, unrestricted state license or registration (as applicable by state requirements)
- Free from illegal drug use and effects of alcohol in the workplace
Nice To Haves
- Strong knowledge of medication preparation, distribution, and inventory control
- Experience with automated dispensing systems (e.g., Pyxis, Omnicell) and electronic medical records (e.g., EPIC)
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team
- Knowledge of regulatory standards and hospital pharmacy compliance requirements
Responsibilities
- Under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist, performs a wide variety of technical and clerical duties related to the hospital drug distribution system.
- Duties would include filling physician orders by preparing and distributing medications, including intravenous admixtures and extemporaneous drug preparations, maintaining the drug inventory, and maintaining confidential patient records.
- May participate in the hospital Antibiotic Stewardship Program with a focus on patient safety and public health.
