About The Position

Heartline Staffing is seeking an experienced Travel Perfusionist for a 13-week assignment in Greenville, South Carolina. This role is designed for a highly skilled perfusionist with advanced cardiac experience who is comfortable working in fast-paced, emergent surgical environments across adult, pediatric, and neonatal populations. The ideal candidate must have strong experience in ECMO cannulation and ECMO transport, and be able to independently support complex cardiac procedures in a Level 1 Trauma setting. This assignment is best suited for an experienced traveler who can quickly integrate into a high-acuity CVOR team and manage demanding surgical cases.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of perfusion experience required
  • Travel experience required
  • No first-time travelers
  • Clinical Perfusionist (ABCP) certification required
  • BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • Minimum 1 year of Epic experience required
  • Teaching hospital experience required
  • Community hospital experience required
  • Trauma Level I experience required
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • Proven experience with ECMO cannulation and ECMO transport
  • Experience in CVOR, General OR, Pediatric CVOR, Pediatric General OR, and Level 1 Trauma settings
  • Experience with Epic EMR
  • Experience with Spectrum Pump, Terumo System 1, Quest MPS 2/3 Cardioplegia, I-STAT, Centrimag, Impella 5.5, Bellmont Hyperthermia Kit, CardioHelp, Angiovac, and CardioQuip HC
  • Ability to work 5x8 schedule with on-call requirements
  • Must be comfortable in fast-paced emergent cardiac environments

Responsibilities

  • Operate and manage cardiopulmonary bypass during cardiac surgical procedures
  • Independently assist with ECMO cannulation across adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients
  • Support ECMO transport for patients requiring cardiopulmonary support
  • Provide perfusion support in CVOR, General OR, Pediatric CVOR, and Pediatric General OR environments
  • Support complex cardiac procedures including CABG, TAVR, valve replacement, ASD/VSD repair, MAZE procedure, and pericardial window cases
  • Manage advanced perfusion techniques including cardioplegia delivery, anticoagulation, and hypothermic circulatory arrest
  • Monitor perfusion parameters including flow rates, oxygenation, and patient stability during procedures
  • Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia, and interdisciplinary teams in high-acuity surgical environments
