About The Position

This position is a permanent, full-time role within the Associate Travel Program - PACU, consisting of 13-week travel assignments across multiple Ascension acute care hospitals. The role involves delivering professional nursing care in the operative setting to patients undergoing surgical or other invasive procedures. The schedule may vary between day or rotating shifts, and local and national travel options are available depending on need. The weekly pay rate ranges from $1661 to $2070, with rates varying by location and specialty.

Requirements

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Registered Nurse obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. Must have compact RN license or state RN license relevant to travel assignment location prior to start of assignment.
• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing required.
• One year of RN experience in an acute care setting required.

Nice To Haves

• Must have 1 year of experience and also be recently or currently employed in PACU.

Responsibilities

• Deliver professional nursing care in the operative setting to patients undergoing surgical or other invasive procedures.
• Perform scrub functions including the selection and handling of instruments and supplies used during procedures.
• Perform circulating functions including monitoring, recording, and communicating patient condition and managing overall nursing care of the patient before, during, and after procedures.
• Directly assist operating physician with surgical tasks including hemostasis, suturing, and wound exposure as well as patient positioning.
• Prepare operating rooms and surgical instruments and equipment for use.
