About The Position

The Travel Licensed Nurse is a vital role within Wellpath, responsible for providing patient care in a correctional setting. This position focuses on delivering compassionate care to underserved populations while working under the supervision of Registered Nurses (RNs). The role emphasizes autonomy, teamwork, and the importance of making a difference in the lives of vulnerable patients.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
  • One (1) or more years of clinical experience required.
  • Current licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) within the states of practice.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Must be willing and able to travel 100% of the time.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in assessing patients and planning individual treatment programs under the supervision of an RN.
  • Implement treatment programs by administering medications, performing diagnostic tests, assisting in medical procedures, and implementing nutrition and therapeutic diet plans.
  • Count controlled substances and implement proper safety techniques and standard precautions.
  • Document nursing encounters using SOAP charting and communicate necessary information to nursing staff and other personnel.
  • Respond to emergencies within standard guidelines.
