About The Position
The Interim Director of Nursing provides temporary nursing facility leadership and support in a long-term care setting. This role administers the nursing program to maintain high standards of resident care and facilitates the optimization of the geriatric care process to improve service quality and efficiency. The director is responsible for the overall quality of care provided by nursing personnel, advising medical staff and administrators on nursing service strategies. The position requires frequent travel to various facilities across multiple states, including CO, IA, KS, MN, ND, NE, and SD. The director interprets nursing service policies to staff and community groups, monitors nursing staff operations for compliance with regulations, schedules staff, conducts performance reviews, and provides nursing care as needed. Additionally, the director assists in developing and implementing marketing activities and community events.
