Requirements

• BLS certification
• Chemo certification (ONS/ONCC)
• At least one year of experience in an infusion center or outpatient oncology setting
• Proficient in administering chemotherapy and managing side effects
• Strong phlebotomy skills and experience with IV push administration of chemotherapy.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with various cancer types including bladder, breast, colorectal, and lung cancer.
• Knowledge of active immunotherapy and hormonal therapy.
• Ability to recognize and manage complications such as anaphylaxis and neutropenic precautions.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care in an infusion center setting.
• Administer chemotherapy and manage side effects for various cancer types.
• Monitor patients during treatment and recognize abnormal lab values.
• Educate and support patients and their families regarding treatment plans.
• Manage and care for central lines and ports, including blood draws and IV starts.
• Handle body fluids post-chemotherapy and manage cytotoxic spills.
• Administer blood products and intravenous hydration/multivitamins.
