About The Position

The Travel Health Center Assistant role at Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains involves providing direct patient support and performing various medical tasks while traveling to different health center locations across Colorado, New Mexico, and Las Vegas. The position is designed for individuals excited to learn medical skills, such as blood draws and lab sample processing, while ensuring excellent patient care and customer service. This full-time position offers paid medical training and a pathway to becoming a Certified Medical Assistant.

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or High School Equivalency (HSE) diploma.
• Valid Certified Medical Assistant certification (preferred).
• Spanish-speaking skills (preferred but not required).

Nice To Haves

• Experience in a medical or healthcare setting.
• Customer service experience.

Responsibilities

• Travel to various PPRM health centers as assigned and work as a replacement Health Center Assistant (HCA).
• Perform patient intakes and provide sexual health education.
• Draw blood and collect & process basic lab samples.
• Answer phones, make appointments, and maintain records.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient health center operations.
• Monitor, order, maintain, and dispense supplies and medications as appropriate.
• Enter lab work results into the computer system.
• Participate in abortion services, including referrals, information, education, and counseling.
