About The Position

This travel program offers pharmacists the opportunity to work for a single company across multiple assignments at partner facilities nationwide. The role provides a competitive hourly rate, potential tax-free stipends, referral bonuses, and license reimbursement for new states. The Director of Pharmacy is responsible for the comprehensive management of medication orders, including dispensing, handling, usage, and storage, while adhering to departmental standards and policies. This position serves as a key information resource for patients and healthcare professionals on medication therapy, collaborating with medical and nursing staff to ensure quality and cost-effective drug delivery. The Director also plays a vital role in the hospital's Antibiotic Stewardship Program, focusing on patient safety and public health, and is expected to provide pharmaceutical care across all relevant age groups. Leadership duties are also expected when the primary Director is absent.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science Degree from a College/School of Pharmacy
  • Current, valid, and active license to practice as a Pharmacist in the state of employment
  • TPN experience
  • Previous acute care experience
  • Ability to project a professional image
  • Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements
  • Strong organizational, prioritizing and analytical skills
  • Current, valid and active BLS certifications from a Vibra Travels-approved vendor

Nice To Haves

  • Doctor of Pharmacy degree
  • Experience with pharmacokinetics and anticoagulation
  • Electronic medical records experience

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the filling and dispensing of medication orders, including the proper handling, usage and storage of drugs in the Pharmacy
  • Maintain standards set forth by the department and translate policies and procedures into daily operations
  • Act as an information resource to patients, physicians, nurses and other healthcare professionals regarding medication therapy and drug-related information and literature
  • Provide a coordination effort, in conjunction with the medical staff and nursing, in the delivery of quality and cost-effective drug therapies to patients
  • Participate in the hospital Antibiotic Stewardship Program with a focus on patient safety and public health
  • Demonstrate a competency to provide pharmaceutical care to patients of all relevant age groups
  • Provide leadership in the absence of the Director as assigned
