About The Position

The Registered Nurse position involves providing high-quality patient care in a clinical setting, specifically focusing on post-cardiac surgery and critical care management. The role requires a strong understanding of various medical procedures and the ability to manage complex patient needs effectively. This position is a 13-week assignment with a schedule of 4x12-hour shifts, primarily during the night.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a critical care setting.
• Current certifications in ACLS and BLS are required.
• Proficient in the interpretation of dysrhythmias and management of cardiac patients.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump and Impella devices.
• Familiarity with Epic charting system.

Responsibilities

• Provide care for patients post-cardiac surgery and manage dysrhythmias.
• Monitor and manage multi-system organ failure and chronic/acute renal failure.
• Administer medications and perform procedures such as IV insulin protocols and blood product administration.
• Assist with the management of ventilated patients and perform ventilator management.
• Interpret dysrhythmias and ABGs, and implement infection prevention protocols.
• Care for patients with arterial lines, central lines, and PICC lines, ensuring proper management and care.
