About The Position

Requirements

• Board certification in general surgery and trauma surgery.
• Experience in surgical critical care and trauma management.

• Fellowship training in trauma or surgical critical care.
• Experience in academic medicine and teaching.

Responsibilities

• Attend on trauma service weeks, SICU weeks, and EGS service weeks, including in-house, weeknight, and weekend trauma/ICU/EGS surgery call.
• Provide elective general surgery practice including elective clinics, operating room blocks, outreach, and program development.
• Educate residents and medical trainees as faculty members of the University of Colorado School of Medicine.
• Practice evidence-based, high-quality medicine to enhance patient understanding and involvement in care decisions.
• Collaborate with staff and management to improve service and patient care delivery.
• Communicate clinical information clearly and timely, and provide feedback respectfully.
• Lead initiatives to improve outcomes and ensure compliance with legal and educational requirements.
