About The Position

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Trauma Advanced practice Provider to join the Extant Healthcare team at Chippenham Hospital in Richmond, Virginia. About Chippenham Hospital: 466-bed Level l Trauma Center and Level l Burn Center ACGME approved General Surgery Residency 65-bed Emergency Department 12-bed dedicated Pediatric Emergency Department 15 operating rooms Tucker Pavilion - 137 beds dedicated to inpatient acute behavioral health care Levinson Heart Institute - Cardiac surgery program, 3 interventional cardiac catheterization labs, 3 electrophysiology labs, ECMO programs, interventional radiology suite for Convergent Maze and IR procedures for AFIB About the Community: Richmond is a wonderful place to practice medicine and raise a family. Requirements

  • Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant with outside of training
  • Strong clinical and procedural skills in trauma care
  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly and concisely with patients, nursing, physicians and administration
  • Board certification and current Virginia license or eligibility to obtain

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the management of patients with acute traumatic injuries in both emergency and inpatient settings
  • Provide interoperative support during trauma surgeries, including preoperative preparation, assisting during surgery, and postoperative care
  • Participate in trauma resuscitation and emergency interventions as needed
  • Maintain accurate and timely medical records
  • Participate in training and education of medical students, residents, and other healthcare staff
