About The Position

Responsible for maintaining the trauma registry and required data submissions to both state and national databases.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in Applied Science or related field or equivalent education and experience
  • Two years' experience in health care
  • Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs.
  • Frequent sitting, standing, walking, reaching and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements.
  • Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more) and to identify and distinguish colors.
  • Frequent use of hearing and speech to share information through oral communication. Ability to hear alarms, malfunctioning machinery, etc.
  • Frequent keyboard use/data entry.
  • Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting and gripping.
  • Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs.
  • Rare climbing.

Responsibilities

  • Completes daily analysis of medical records for trauma patients, determines eligibility for registry reporting and maintains the trauma registry.
  • Maintains, utilizes, and communicates current knowledge of regulatory agency requirements and standards, with regard to trauma care.
  • Demonstrates a thorough understanding, accurate interpretation, and knowledge of the standards that regulate trauma registry activities.
  • Completes daily analysis of medical records for trauma patients and determines eligibility for registry reporting.
  • Performs queries for basic monthly reports from the trauma registry database.
  • Utilizes various software systems to perform analysis, graphs, and compile data and reports in format that is user friendly.
  • Maintains collaborative relationships providers, agencies, and internal departments.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
