The Trauma PCU Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high quality, patient-centered care. In collaboration with medical providers, the RN provides pre-operative and post-operative nursing care. The RN serves as an advocate for patients to support an unparalleled patient experience. TriStar Skyline Medical Center is a 250+ bed facility. We are Tennessees first comprehensive stroke center and a national leader in neuroscience. In addition, we are equipped with 3 helipads, new ICU and Medical/Surgical floors, and burn care services. We offer a CARF accredited Inpatient Rehabilitation program and are an ACS verified Level II Trauma Center. Requirements

Current Registered Nurse license inâ¯Tennesseeâ¯or appropriate compact state
Appropriate communication skills
Education - ASN, BSN preferred

Responsibilities

Demonstrates knowledge of human growth and development, assessment range of treatment, and care of patients appropriate to the ages of patients served
Promotes customer service initiatives along with Skyline Medical Center Service Values. (HCAHPS)
All behaviors fully support positive customer service (HCAHPS)
Documents all patient care.
Utilized Nursing Process for individual care to meet needs of patients.
Demonstrates ability to perform technical skills and procedures.
Promotes compliance with National Patient Safety Goals.
Assess patient condition during admission and during each shift, identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
Perform procedures or other functions as ordered by the medical provider.
Document the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
Perform the administration of prescribed medications and monitors response.
Maintain a knowledge of medications, procedures, and equipment used in the care of cardiac and medical-surgical patients.
