This role is limited tenure until April 2028. The Trauma Performance (PI) Coordinator, working with the Associate Medical Director Adult Trauma PI is responsible for directing the Performance Improvement Patient Safety activities of the Trauma Center as required by the American College of Surgeons for Level 1 trauma verification. This includes (but not limited to) capturing PIPS events; validating trauma PIPS events; preparation and maintenance of case reviews and summaries; supporting trauma quality projects; and examining Trauma Quality Improvement Program (TQIP) reports to identify opportunities for improvement. The PI Coordinator works with a variety of multidisciplinary leadership and staff to monitor and assure event resolution for all performance improvement issues. Other duties of the position include attendance and participation at Trauma PIPS committee meetings, clinical conferences, oversight of patient screenings, and collaboration with liaisons as a contributor to pertinent education for providers that are directly related to a PI action plan. Specific data registry duties include providing clinical guidance to registry staff, , and providing support for the quality and scholarly activities of the Trauma Center. This role is eligible for TN sponsorship. Successful sponsorship will require state licensure and completion of the VisaScreen or equivalent certification.
