About The Position

We’re seeking an experienced Charge RN to join the Trauma Ortho/Neuro Med Surg team in Bradenton, FL. This unit provides care to a diverse patient population, including trauma recovery, orthopedic, and neurological cases, requiring strong critical thinking and leadership skills. The Charge RN will play a key role in both patient care delivery and unit operations, supporting a high-performing team while ensuring excellent patient outcomes.

Requirements

• Current Florida RN license or multistate compact license (required)
• Nursing Diploma or ASN required; BSN preferred
• Current BLS certification required (AHA or Red Cross)
• ACLS required within 6 months of hire
• Minimum 1 year of acute care RN Charge experience required (hospital setting preferred)
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• Strong leadership, communication, and critical thinking skills

Responsibilities

• Lead daily operations of a busy Trauma/Ortho/Neuro Med Surg unit
• Provide clinical expertise while mentoring and supporting staff nurses
• Manage patient assignments, ensure safe staffing ratios, and oversee workflow
• Deliver direct patient care, including medication administration and monitoring
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to optimize care plans
• Educate patients and families on recovery, treatment, and discharge needs
