In this role, you will utilize evidence-based and trauma treatments to support youth who have committed offense-specific behaviors and victims in healing. Daily Impact looks like: Engaging youth with problem sexual behaviors and victims using two evidence-based trauma treatments: Trauma-focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. Cultivating growth in the whole family unit to empower families and support youth. Keeping youth out of the system and with their families by preventing further misconduct. To belong at Savio, you need to: Be flexible and self-motivated Have a passion for engaging youth ages 5-18 and their families who need to heal from past traumas Have a strengths-based and trauma-informed perspective of adolescents who have committed sexual offenses Be comfortable with community-based therapy and a non-traditional work schedule Recognize the importance of trauma and family systems on a youth’s development and behaviors Grow with Savio through: Developing an advanced understanding of treating youth who experienced trauma by training and utilizing two evidence-based trauma models (EMDR and TF-CBT) Clinical supervision hours and other professional development Sex Offender Management Board (SOMB) Certification, including ongoing training Guidance from external consultants to enhance clinical development Opportunities for leadership, including training and guiding interns preparing to enter the field
