About The Position

As a Trapper at Nemacolin's Rod & Range Club, you will be responsible for the daily operations of the trapping course, as well as creating “Real Life Magic” by providing detailed instruction to guests at a high-end level. Requirements

  • Minimum of a high school education.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to stand up to 8 hours at a time.
  • Must be able to speak the English language fluently.
  • Must be 18 years of age.
  • Must have previous experience working with shotguns.
  • Must be able to work a variety of shifts – including holidays, weekends, etc.
  • Must have the ability to maintain appropriate grooming standards according to organizational policy.
  • These skills and abilities are typically acquired through the completion of a high school diploma or equivalent, as well as through personal or professional experience with different types of target/clay shooting.

Responsibilities

  • Performing trapping duties for guests, which includes tasks such as pulling and scoring rounds.
  • Discussing basic safety information with guests to ensure that they have a positive experience.
  • Maintaining and loading the trapping course as needed.
  • Ensure the safety of guests and employees at all times.
  • Instruct guests about sporting clays rules and safety issues to ensure they have a positive experience.
  • Accompany guests out onto the clays course and guide them as needed on the course, 5 Stand and/or teaching areas.
  • Set up equipment for guests to include guns, ammunition, and safety products.
  • Performing trapping duties for guests to include tasks such as pulling and scoring rounds.
  • Ensure that equipment is put away and stored properly and that all buildings and gates are secure at the end of the day.
  • Stock, move, and load trap machines as needed.
  • Liaise with other Outdoor Activity personnel to ensure exceptional activity experiences for guests.
  • Facilitate Archery/Air Rifle, and 3D Archery Program.
  • Other job duties as assigned.
