About The Position

The Pharmacy Transporter works under the supervision of a registered pharmacist, assisting pharmacy staff by retrieving filled prescriptions and processing payments. The role ensures that patient medications are delivered in a timely manner and utilizes time between deliveries to assist with other tasks such as answering the phone.

Requirements

• Must be 21 years of age
• Valid Driver's License

Nice To Haves

• High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred
• Customer service experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Delivers medications to inpatient/outpatient care areas per protocol
• Responsible for answering telephone calls and requests at outpatient pharmacy pick-up/drop-off window
• Provide customer service and answer questions or address concerns for customers
• Process payments for pharmacy sales
• Maintains a clean, neat, and well-organized work area
• Utilizes hospital computer system for order communication functions at all levels covered by security code
• Maintains records or other required documentation accurately and files them in appropriate locations
• Observes all safety guidelines and adheres to policies and procedures
• Reports directly to the director of pharmacy or pharmacist in charge
• Maintains strict confidentiality of patient, visitor, and employee information
• Works cooperatively with all staff and is punctual and dependable
