About The Position

If you’re ready to play a key role in the care and caring of our patients, explore the following position: Maintain a culture of compassion, caring, warmth and support while escorting patients to areas throughout the hospital conducting yourself in a courteous manner and responding to patients’ needs and inquiries politely and promptly. Spend quality time and build solid relationships with patients and their families. Go above and beyond for patients, deliver superior customer service and ensure their comfort and safety at all times. In this role you will transport patients from the nursing units to various hospital departments; to make pick-ups and deliveries of Medical Records, Lab Specimens, pharmacy and other equipment. May need to change O2 tanks, and apply O2 regulators on conveyance vehicles. This is a full time evening shift position, including weekends/holidays located at NewYork-Presbyterian Queens located in Flushing, NY. Schedule is 4:00pm to 12:00am with weekends and alternating holidays. Weekends are required for the first 2 years.

Requirements

  • Must be able to read and write English
  • Ability to follow simple directions
  • Basic clerical skills for logging patient names and destinations
  • Planning skills to efficiently route patient transports
  • Weekends are required for the first 2 years.
  • Requires registration with the 1199 Job Security Fund.

Nice To Haves
