About The Position

Our full range of medical services include a new pavilion featuring enhancements in heart and vascular care, surgery, maternity, cancer care, and diagnostic imaging. Job Summary and Responsibilities As our Patient Transporter, you will provide essential assistance and transportation for patients and related items across our campus, ensuring a highly customer-sensitive and seamless experience. Every day you will promptly and safely transport inpatients and outpatients to and from various hospital areas. You will meticulously confirm patient identification, greet and assist in transferring patients, and make conscious observations of patient condition during transport, reporting any issues to appropriate personnel. You will also maintain a clean and organized work area and report any malfunctioning equipment. To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate a strong commitment to patient safety and exceptional customer service for all individuals within our facility. You will be attentive, observant, and capable of performing duties efficiently while upholding the highest standards of care and professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Verifies requisition and patient I.D. bracelet prior to transporting pt. to department
• Transports patients to and from the appropriate care areas using the appropriate method of transportation.
• Maintains the cleanliness of carts, stretchers, wheelchairs and other transportation equipment, and monitors equipment to ensure proper working order.
• Assists staff in the movement of patients from stretchers, wheel chairs, or beds.
• Complies with Hospital/Department/Unit policies.
• Documents activities consistent with Hospital/Department/Unit Guidelines to include keeping accurate logs of patient transport.
