Requirements

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• No experience required.

Responsibilities

• Understands and demonstrates appropriate use of lifting equipment and assistive devices for patient mobility.
• Understands levels of assistance, weight bearing status.
• Demonstrates safe and appropriate body mechanics when assisting patients.
• Provides safe mobility following the Progressive Mobility Protocol.
• Receives assignment from nursing staff and or rehab staff daily at the start of his/her shift.
• Communicates with nurse prior to mobilizing patient.
• Documents in the EMR under 'mobility aide' time, activity, under the direction of the nurse caring for the patient.
• Communicates completion of activity and any concerns noted.
• Enlists assistance of staff as needed.
• Responds to calls for assistance in a timely and professional manner.
